December 2018

Can you believe it we have reached the end of 2018? It feels like just the other day we were playing our club champs. Time has really flown.

You must have noticed that we are refurbishing a number of our tee boxes and building a number of new boxes. All these little adjustments make a big difference to the aesthetics of our club and a number of visitors have commented to me that they always notice that we are constantly trying to improve our club and I personally think this is great.

Once again, I was rather disappointed that the Presidents and Captains cup did not take place but we are going to try and push for it next year with a few subtle changes to the format so please look out for this and give us your full support.

By now I am sure you would have noticed that we are inviting tenders for the halfway house and we will try to finalise the process early in the new year.

The roof is being replaced on the main club building and if you have not noticed it yet take some time to check it out, it is looking very good.

Our proshop sales are looking very good lately and I encourage all our members to have a squiz around the shop, there are some really good bargains and some very nice new clothing. Especially check out the special on the Titleist Pro V1 balls.

I have played a number of other courses recently and I would like to personally congratulate our ground staff, our course is still far better than a huge number of other local courses. WELL DONE!!

I am very pleased to announce that our membership has increased ever so slightly but in these trying times that is quite an achievement.

The South African Ladies Golf Association held their amateur midams at our club during November and I personally chatted to a number of the ladies that were participating and I only received positive feedback regarding our club. A typical comment that I received was that we can be very lucky as members to be able to play on this course every weekend. Excellent.

Congratulations to all our Krugersdorp ladies who participated, we are all very proud of you girls.

The overall winner of the competition was Liezl Smit, pictured below:

The final Captain’s draw was held on the 30th November and was very well attended. The jackpot was R5000 and this was also won on the evening so next year we will be starting afresh with this as well.

This is the final captain’s corner for the year so I hereby wish you all a fantastic festive season and if you are travelling over this period please make sure you travel safe and we will see you all on the greens next year.

A merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year to all.

Cheers till next time.
