Bill Bailey is Back!
So good to see, Bill is back on his feet and he has already made an impact at the club. On Wednesday 31st October 2018 Bill was at the club enjoying the company of his old golfing mates and he decided to buy 10 tickets in the Joker draw. Well, you can guess what happened next. Bill’s name was drawn, and he proceeded to draw the joker and won himself a cool seven and a half thousand rand. Well done buddy. Keep getting stronger and stronger.
I would like to bring to your attention the fact that we are looking at repairing all the bunkers so please be patient with the process as it will take some time. We need to firstly investigate the various options of how to fix them and then weigh up the costs. Once all the investigation work is done and the costs have been approved you will notice that the work will start. You will also notice while you are playing your rounds that a few of the older trees are being removed for safety purposes. We do not want a tree falling on one of our wonderful members while he or she is playing their shot.
The height of the greens has been reduced but please also be patient with the varying speeds as this is due to the drought conditions. Someone please bring the rain!!!
New summer stock has been placed in the Pro Shop for sale so do yourself a favour and have a peek around the shop. Don’t just go in, pay your fees and get out. Check the new shirts and specials, it might be worth your while. Cool!!
At the time of writing, the President’s and Captain’s Prize is still taking place on the 18th November but the response has been very disappointing, and it is expected that these competitions will be cancelled. This is very sad as at all other clubs I know of, these are normally big competitions on the calendar.
All the league sides have now completed their respective schedules and some sides have achieved more than others, but we thank all the participants for the year and wish them all the best for next season. Here are the results for our sides, men and ladies.
Scratch League A:
Scratch League B:
Mid Am League:
Ladies Sunday Leagues:
Our Ladies Weekday League side ended second in their league.
Well, that’s all for now fellow golfers. Next month I will be highlighting the ladies Mid-am held recently at our club.
Cheers till next time.
