WOW Played 9 and won 9.
That is the record for the betterball handicap league side for the 2018 season. The team won the B Division and will be promoted to the A Division next season. Very well-done guys.
Our last Captain’s draw was very well attended which is to be expected if the jackpot is currently at R30 000. This month it is even higher, and I am sure our members will be attending in their droves.
The Joker draw was won two weeks ago and paid out just over R12 000, congrats to the winner.
The new pack has begun, and two cards have been drawn already.
All knockout fixtures are currently on the go and I urge all of you to please stick to the dates and to ensure that your fixture is played timeously.
Our Greens keeper and his team are doing a sterling job with our course, but I would like to request all players to repair any pitch marks while you are playing your round. This all helps to keep our course in an excellent condition.
We recently had three major achievements on our course:
- Michelle Edwards had a Hole-in-one on the 4th.
- Devon Cornelissen had a Hole-in-one on the 11th.
Congratulations on getting your names on the honours board.
And then Stephan Rossiter had an albatross on the 1st managing to sink his second shot from approximately 245 metres out.
Our Junior side beat Southdowns recently – well done.

A three jacks and a Jill competition was held on Woman’s Day at the club with all members teeing off from the Ladies tees. Lots of fun was had by all and the consensus was that these fun days should be held on a more regular basis. Well done to the organisers.
The Ryder Cup is scheduled to take place on the Friday 28th September and entries are already open. The format is a 36-hole competition with the first 18 being foursomes and betterball in the afternoon. Entrance fee is set at R400 which includes a shirt.
Our ladies section embarked on a jersey knitting expedition for Mandela Day. The jerseys were for new-born babies and each lady member took it on themselves to knit as many jerseys as possible. Well done girls, you make us truly proud.
Till next time keep it straight and may you have many more one putts.
